    Default STI Driver POP Falses

What makes a STID go bonkers setting off false POP? I was in really heavy traffic yesterday and i was behind a honda civic, next to a mercedes, and infront of a nissan altima. no infinitis near me. It just went crazy, wouldn't stop. So i had to turn it off.

It's the first time it's ever happened.

One of the cars around you had a cheap Cobra (aka Crapra) in their car.

Infinitis cause laser falses, not POP falses.

Is there a particular reason you have POP on? Turning it off would eliminate those falses.

    O.O

I've never seen anyone else around leesburg with a RD before! So there are others... :P

I had turned it on when i went on a long road trip in a friends car. i put my STI and V1 in his car cause i didn't feel like driving. I turned it on just in case.

Is there any advantages of having PoP on or off? i've never encountered pop around my area anyway. just curious

POP on will increase the detector's response time to most radar signals. With POP on, the detector has to keep "looking" at the specific POP frequencies as it scans through all of the frequencies that police radar is used on (called "sweeping") which will slow down the response time.

Also, as you found out, cheap detector emissions can cause a POP alert.

The negatives of having POP on far outweight the slim chance that you will ever come across true POP radar being used. I recommend turning POP off.

    Thanks ER! Really appreciate it.

So now i'll have to do more tests comparing the response time between my V1 and STI

    sigh

EDIT: Would turning POP off on my V1 do the same thing?
