I know it was mentioned about the sti-r plus in foreign countries, I wonder it will come to US market? Maybe that is why the current sti-r is discountined. So pretty......

I had my STI-R installed a few days ago. Let me tell you, I was driving down I-10 East from Milton, I found K band signals that I never knew was there. I'd look through the trees and notice gas stations and walgreens. The Whistler and Cobra never even picked those up. It seems to be very sensitive. I have yet to encounter a Leo running radar though.Hopefully I will soon so I can gauge it's effectiveness.
I have no doubt that the the STI-R is more sensitive. K band was kind of lacking on my Whistler, Ka band sensitivity was pretty good in my area. I know that the STI-R will be more sensitive there too. It'll be really nice to be able to see the comparision since I don't generally have to worry about interference.
I'm currently only running the STI-R so I can get an idea of how it behaves so I can make sure that there is no interference when I run another detector with it for testing.
I'd wait. This is a total guess, but I think there will be an STi-R Plus for the US. I worry about how much the price will be for this new unit though. If that's an issue, buying the STi-R now might not be a bad idea.
Coming from a guy that switched from a Whistler SE to an STi-R, which makes you the ultimate expert on this subject.
Bummer. I am very curious to know how dramatic the sensitivity difference for you, in a more rural area.
do it.
after owning a V1, then a STI Driver, and now the STI - R. i love it. it's amazing.
Use the STI-r on my motorhome, antenna mounted on roof. The first trip with it was with RacerX and detected a NHP unit on I-15 in Vegas that was 7 miles away!
It is an awsome unit
