Front page of the Beltronics site. $80 trade-in. Do what I did: buy a $3 ancient RD on fleabay or at a garage sale and trade it in. Doesn't need to be a working detector.
I can also post a direct link to the info page, but don't know if that's breaking the rules. I know about the pricing link rule... but its the manufacturer page so I'm unsure.
We will definitely continue to support the GX65 for quite some time.
Autolearn is the major difference between the GX65 and the 9500ix.
As others have pointed out the alert tones and voices are entirely different. Obviously the GX65 tones will probably appeal more to someone familiar with Beltronics products.
The multiple signal display mode is also different. For example, Escort's ExpertMeter mode shows the bands received along with a bar graph strength meter for each radar signal. Bel's similar Threat Display mode displays the bands along with a numerical value of the strength of each signal.
Another difference is the volume control. 9500ix has + and - buttons while the GX65 has a single button to adjust volume and to mute
9500ix has scanning dot Pilot mode (think Cylon), GX65 does not
9500ix has Auto volume, GX65 does not
That's all that I can think of.
The antenna is mounted on the top side of the main board in the GX65. It isn't mounted "upside down" like a Passport 9500i and 9500ix. The main circuit board of the GX65 is entirely different than the Passport 9500i and 9500ix's.
I have no issues with my GX65.
My 9500ix is pretty close to my Sti-R on K band...not KA, but not bad. Autolearn, though not perfect, should bring more money in resale!
