GX65 and RX65 have the same M4 antena.I own both.
I highly recommend staying away from purchasing supposedly "new" detectors on eBay and other auctions sites. We have found repackaged, stolen, and used Escort and Beltronics detectors sold on auction sites as "new". Beltronics detectors are produced by us, Escort Inc.
Our products sold on auction sites will not be covered by the factory warranty.
See our warranty exclusions and reseller risks web pages.
Contact one of our authorized dealers, such as Radarbusters.com who run this site, or us to see if there are any promotions being offered on our products.
Performance-wise the GX65 and 9500i are designed to detect equally. They use the same antenna it's just mounted differently. The main functional difference between them is the GX65 can use the Defender database of camera and speed trap locations, while the 9500i cannot.
there all three going to perform basically the same, it is just their features that basically makes them different
RX65 - only has radar/laser detection
9500i - has a GPS in it so you can mark location you want to remember
GX65 - has GPS and red light and speed camera alert. As well you can lock out false alerts using the GPS
Shoot me a PM when you decide which one you want and I'll get you a good deal, for a brand new one.

My theory.........9500i ~ RX65 > GX65 when it comes to Radar Detection.
All use the M4 antenna, but the 9500i and RX65 each have a trick up their sleeve to improve radar detection that the GX65 does not.
The 9500i has a special condensor lense in front of the M4 antenna that the other two detectos lack. This lense is used to improve the efficiency of the horn by making corrections to the minor phase errors that occur due to the shortness of the horn.
The RX65, on the other hand, has a special sweep pattern that can be programmed on to sweep just the portions of Ka band that are used by police radar in the US. This has BOTH the advantage of kicking up sensitivity on all radar bands as well as giving the RX65 better response times to short duration IO shots.
Here is a test that GOL ran back in 2006 with an RX65 in normal mode (INTL) vs (USA) mode. As you can see, the improvement in sensitivity was significant in some cases.
Guys of LIDAR - Radar Detector Test
So for Radar detection capabilities, I'd have the GX65 in 3rd place.

They will detect exactly the same, the GX65 has a nice GPS feature is all. I would save up and buy a 9500ix if you want that, it's a better unit overall.
Otherwise, ditch the RX65 and buy a C65 - you'll save money for an identical unit.
I owned the Rx65 but sold it. I now have the Gx 65. I like the weekly database updates and the Gps.
