Beltronics 966...my old friend

Hi all,

i just got a new job that requires me to travel more than i used to. i will be traveling as far south as VA (i know RD's are illegal there) and as far north as MA.

i dug up my old Bel 966, powered it on and still works. i opened it up a few hours ago to resodier the power connector...it was loose.

i have not yet mounted the RD in my truck...i lost the mount for it.

anyways...should i trust it? i havent used it in over 15 years. I do remember when i bought it it was one of the best on the market. it has X K Ka.

I cant think of any additional info......thanks

ok...after doing some testing....my 966 freezes randomly anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes being on. have no clue as to why...doesnt matter

after many hours of research.....i ended up buying a RX65 thru radarbusters. with a 10% discount, free 2-day shipping (needed it for a trip to Philly this weekend) and they accept paypal.

gonna put my old friend back in its box so it can live out its retirement in peace
