    Default Inside Sti-R PLUS reciever

Today I removed all my CM's from my car because I'm selling it to get something a little more economical and I noticed that my reciever had a rattle inside it. It turned out to be the two screws just needed tightening but I decided to take some pics to show you guys. I'm not sure if it's any different to the original STi-R but here they are anyway.

I must not have been paying attention... How did you get a PLUS? They aren't even released yet, are they?

Oh I wish I could turn that un-used x band horn on it's side and make that the k band horn and the other the Ka horn.

lol, its very basic. Two screws on the back and the whole unit slides out. There are two grooves the circuit board slides along built into the housing. I wouldn't have opened it if it wasn't rattling. But a little microwave reciever is nothing compared to what I work on every day in terms of electronic complexity.

Haha I definitely would've worn the strap. Static electricity can be a *****. When I sent in my STi-R to escort due to what I felt like was diminished K band performance the engineers tested its sensitivity and the reaction I got was something like this:
"Yeah your K band sensitivity/reactivity is slightly lower than the average M3 but your Ka band sensitivity/reactivity is so high we don't want to even open her up and risk screwing that up somehow"
If thats how they feel about it I definitely aint touching that thing with a screwdriver ever lol

The X band horn is also used to filter out falses from other crappy detectors. Not that you would have that problem down under, but it does serve another purpose than just detecting X band radar.
