question about bel 995 version 3.6

I am sending back to bel since the upgrade will be done for free to the newer 4.5. The only thing i have had a problem with is the laser falses at least once or more a day driving. I hope the newer firmware fixes the problem. other than this, , my 995 is perfection on every band. here in cocoa beach fl, ive encountered pop more than once and confirmed by driving by again. 33.8 frequency ka flollowing with a pop alert and almost a little chirp with it. youll know it when its real. the police in various counties, depending on money and budgets, are getting the new pop radar. Glad i have the bel radar with the lp 904. soon to be lp 905 from roy when i can afford with veil.
has anyone sent back unit for upgrade and did it perform better after? thanx dan :?: :
DONE AND UPGRADED TO 4.5. NO POP FALSING YET. LASER PROBLEM FIXED AND SOFTWARE UPFRADED!!.

Well I have a 3.6 i believe too and i go though the occasional Laser False but with a laser jammer I am mainly listening to that

i got the seperate lp904 so i can tell if its real but im going to be getting the lp905 from roy soon and it interacts with the 995 so if the rd falses, then it will set off the jammer too. (thats my understanding anyways?) so i want to have it checked out and tested just to be safe before my year runs out.
my current lp904 is a seperate so i can tell if its real or not too but when i get the lp905, it matters then since they work together.
ive had bel since 1990, stuck with them and really like the companys product line and i dont make alot of money so when i get the lp905, i just want to make sure it lasts as long as my current lp904 has. i need veil too.
i hope i get a nice tax refund so i can buy both at once from roy soon.
my older bel 985, that falsed laser once in a while-normal, but the 995 i have is starting to false more than normal so while its testing at bel, they said they will upgrade the firm on it for free. I just hope it worx as well as when i send it in tomorrow.
alot of people tell me to go with another jammer but i havent had any tickets in 5 yrs with the lp904, and have had it save me many times and just last week on hwy 95, there was a whole line of them with a motorcycle cop in middle of bridge, and i was going 90 and both jammer and rd995 went off and again saved me with plenty of time to slow. i can only hope i get the same long term use from the lp 905.
if roy sells a extended warranty, ill be getting it just to be safe. later rob,

Here in Greece, someone who had a relative workin as a Traffic Patrol Officer, tried the Ultralyte against 995. The results were disappointing.
Hitting the car from 300-500m there was no detection (licence plate, headlight, even hood or directly the 995).
After that, they tried with the car stopped. They aimed at the same spots and no detection at all. Even when the cop aimed at the 995 directly from 2-3m distance.

1. What is going on? Is there a problem with the 995, so the guy must return it back to the shop? (I think he bought it from RadioShack here in Greece)

2. Is there a difference in laser detection relative to the firmware used?

3. I don't know the firmware but I read the post and grabbed the opportunity to ask the question here.

1. Yes there is a problem if the detector is ounted properly per the manual with the V995

2. No, firmware doesn't effect laser sensitivity

3. To get the firmware to pop up you need to "reset the detector" consult the manual

other than the above falsing more than normal, when ive been hit with real laser on i95 in florida last week and in west palm fl, both my bel 995 version 3.6 and the laserpro 904 went off multiple times even as i got closer.
then, when i was within 1000 feet(est) my lp 904 was still going off-leading me to believe he still didnt have a lock on me since my jammer was still going nuts, only then, close did the 995 not pick up the laser but like i said, the laserpro904 did and i turned the disarm on so i wouldnt make it too obvious i had a jammer.
the 995 is excellent. just because i say it falses on laser, it will pick up "real" laser when im being hit and i know this when my lp904 goes off like rob said, i listen to the lp904, not the 995. even so, its a new radar 995 and so i will send in for a complete test by bel and they are going to give me the 4.5 firmware for free with a copy of receipt.
it certainly couldnt hurt by trying to fix falsing with the laser on the 995.
ALSO, I FOUND OUT THAT WHEN I BUY THE NEWER LP 905, YOU ARE ABLE TO TURN OFF THE LASER ON THE BEL 995, AND STILL HAVE THE LP 905 WORKING. I DIDNT KNOW THIS. SO EVEN IF THE LASER CONTINUES FALSING WHEN I GET IT BACK, I CAN SHUT IT OFF AND RELY ON THE LASERPRO 905 ANYWAYS. BECAUSE AS FAR AS PERFORMANCE DEALING WITH RADAR(ESPECIALLY KA BANDS), I HAVENT SEEN OR OWNED A BETTER UNIT IN OVER 16 YEARS OWNING RADAR DETECTORS.
THE BEL 995 IS BY FAR THE BEST DETECTOR IVE EVER OWNED, HANDS DOWN.
