My guess is that some dealers are trying to differentiate this product (as the 2nd generation sti?) from previous Bel units that carried the Sti moniker in their name--eg 615sti, 645sti, 845sti, 850sti etc. I think the original sti's were known as "shadow technology" because they were vg-2 proof.
