    Default STI-R Plus notifications

I don't yet have my STI-R Plus + dual LI, but that is the plan. I'm worried the notifications will be annoying. While I love the idea of being notified of red light cameras, as we have those all over the place here, I only care about that info sometimes. If I decide to mute the STI-R Plus, will it still notify me in some other way? I see it has an LED display. Would this flash the message? I assume so, but wanted to ask.

    Thanks!

There's an alert LED which I beleive only alerts to actual Radar hits, and the display module as well which shows any type of alert and other info.

I personally have a power kill switch on the speaker for times when I'm driving with family or talking on my cell phone and don't want to hear the alerts. Also useful when you get pulled over and don't need to let the officer know he left his radar on.

you can always plug in a set of head phones in the stiR+ and hear the alert in your ears.

Cool. Sounds like the display gives all the alerts, just need to mount it in a good spot.

Is a speaker kill switch really necessary? Can't you just press mute?

Mute will stop the audio for a current alert, but what if you don't want any alerts for a given time? You need to mute each alert then.. The speaker kill switch just makes sense if you use your cell phone or whatever.. It takes a $2 switch and a few minutes to install, so to me it's a no-brainer.
