Hey all,
I have a slight scratch on the part of my RD where it detects signals. Is this is a major problem? I have been careful with it and have no idea how it got their. I have a little over a month...
-Thanks

Not a problem at all. It will not hurt detection one bit. Beltronics will replace both your lenses if they get bad for 45 bucks and give it a tune up if it stops performing up to par in the future.
Your Welcome! I am the same way, I have a special cloth I keep mine wrapped in as soon as it comes off the windshield.[/QUOTE]
I've started keeping mine in a zip lock bag, then putting in the travel case. Should I wrap in it a microfiber cloth first? Then plastic bag, then travel bag? Or is that overkill since it will eventually get more scratched up? Sorry for all these questions
I use a micro fiber cloth only, but a case with the cloth is just fine. No plastic bags, they trap humidity/moisture so stay away from plastic.

Why not just go to walmart or other store and buy a small padded camera bag that the detector will fit in. That's what I use. No scratches and if accidentally dropped, which I have not done, the detector is protected. Travel bag from escort too bulky for my purposes. Travel bag only used for storage when I switch detectors.
