    Default Finally... an STI-r Plus

Well I haven't been here for a while. I sold my old car (Nissan Altima w/ Redline) and finally bought a 2006 Acura TL (which I love). In between the two, I drove an old Honda Accord around for a while, while saving up some money. Incidentally, I didn't need a radar detector for that car, so I sold my Redline. Now that I have a nice car again, I feel naked without a radar detector, so I broke down and bought an STI-r Plus. Install took about 4 hours (with a bit of frustration, as I nearly broke the car's clock trying to get the display where I wanted it), but I finally finished it! Pictures to come.

Since I just finished at 2am (while raining), I didn't get much of a chance to really test it, as LEOs were not watching traffic, but from the one I did encounter on my test drive, I was impressed.

The only thing I am not happy about so far, is the high pitch tone coming out of the speaker. I had to turn my music up pretty loud so it would not give me a headache. A quick Google search revealed that I am not the only one having this issue, but there does not seem to be a definitive answer on how to fix it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes I have, for some reason I think it was on the whole time for the first few days then it became only on for the first few seconds after activating it or a few seconds after an alert. I could be becoming deaf or my brain might have adjusted to it and I don't hear it anymore who knows.

But yes it was driving me nuts
