Default New personal best on KA detection of my RX-65

Last Sunday I was ramping onto the interstate and I got a KA alert with one bar (straight hwy, rolling hills), so I looked down at my trip meter and it lasted for about 5 seconds. 3/10th of a mile down the road I got a KA alert again with 3 bars. It continually ramped up to 9 bars as I passed him. My trip meter read 1.4 miles. The state trooper was traveling west as I was traveling east. He was in the left lane in a group of traffic. No on ramps for atleast 5 miles. My radar detected the trooper anywhere from 2.2 to 2.8 miles: , which is a personal best for me. I had earlier posted my personal best at 1.7 to 2 miles but this exceeded that and it was in the international mode and I've been running in the USA mode since December. Personal best, different conditons and bands on the link below.

My RD came from eBay and the first one sucked. The sick feeling I got thinking of all the money wasted on those clowns. Note that none of the sellers on eBay gives refunds. They will replace it, but no refunds period! So if they have a bad batch all you get is a different defected RD.
I wrote a letter to the seller telling him how poorly the RD performed in detail and if this is a refurbished and or used RD that I was going to take action with ebay, because most all advertise that they are new (I didn’t think they were). Two weeks later the second one came in and it turned out to be a great detector (I was very fortunate).
I think I scared the seller because of the return E-mails I received from him. Think about it, one very bad review costs hundreds of sells. So he bit the bullet and sent a new one ( I think) to someone who knew what to expect and sold the remaining to the uninformed. I credit men like kpatz, ES13Raven, crazyVOLVOrob, jimbonzzz for info on what to expect; thank you all.
Buy from Radar Roy! Not only will he back the product he has made it possible for newbie (ME) to know what to look for thru this forum, put a price tag on that :!:

Great RD, love the arrows and the additional rear viewing RD, mostly on the hwy. How easy is it to see what band is alarming on the V1. I got my wife a E795 BEL and if I don’t have my reading glass on I can’t tell what band is alarming (very little LED’s and I don’t like it! ). That was one of the reasons I asked for an RX-65 it has a large display and it talks to me.
I would love to try a V1 because most of my driving is hwy miles: 105 a day. Plus all of the reason stated above. The biggest threat where I live is KA bands no laser at this time.

LA, it is difficult to determine which band is what. I have X shut off and laser is not hard to figure out! They do have kits, (someone does) that would really help. Welcome to the board.
