Looks like the GX-65 has been revamped. Finally a GPS based detector that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I've always preferred Bel's form factor over the 9500ix since it's quite a bit larger. The price is attractive and looks like it will be supported with newer firmware/etc.

UPDATE: Someone from Hayneedle called. New shipment came in from Beltronics. Will be at my door on the 7th. Just in time from my 420 mile trip to Cape Cod. Can't wait to put this puppy to the test.

Bel's GX65/PRO-500 has the same dimensions as the 9500ix.

Differences include:
* lower pricing on the Bel (this is cool)
* lack of Autolearn on the Bel (figure if that's worth the extra money for you or not)
* Manly "Caveman" dude voice on the Bel instead of sexy Scarlett Johansson voice on the Escort
* Choose a color scheme you want on either (as long as it's flat black with red LEDs for the Bel)
* A measurable ramp-up on the Bel that's not the Sam-Kinison-alert-on-the-'Scorts
* Expert Meter on Escort shows multiple signals per band, not 1-per-band like the Bel
* When Googling issues from work for the Bel, you're less-apt to get blocked adult-pages in your search results

For those wanting GPS-filtering-goodness for driving in urban/'burbs, the Bel is the best value right now.

zr1 - Thank you. I had always assumed it was a smaller form factor based on looks, but clearly it's larger. I've been saving a 745i for trade up. $319 is very attractive. I can live without auto-learn, and while I have always wanted Expert Mode, the cost savings does not outweigh the need for this feature. Plus, I get to keep my rx-65 which has been been outstanding the past two years.
