My advice. Leave rd testing to the professionals who are professionally trained and certified in it's proper usage and testing and with adequate resources to do it.

    In point of fact.

I OWN a Bushnel Radar gun and even HAND BUILT a operating radar gun with operational audio doppler so I sure as hell know how they work.
LMAO! You have a hotwheels gun and a $75 build you own kit from amazon. Be careful with those, don't look into the lens......it will give you brain tumors.

Amazon.com: Ramsey SG7 Speedy Personal Speed Radar Kit: Car Electronics

    Far more then you do.
Nah. You don't know jack and that fact becomes more and more apparent with each post.

Do yourself a favor and try to import a sympathetic policeman professionally trained in new radar equipment usage into your mutual admiration society to try to give it at least a slight air of legitimacy.

but that would be impossible wouldn't it ?
Here is the real police radar unit used in our testing and it appears to be set up appropriately; tracking both directions with fastest target enabled. I invite you to point out anything wrong with the setup in your expert opinion.

You're heading way out into left field here and off topic. You were going to show us with your Bushnell and coffee can setup how the Pro300 outperforms the RX65/S7 right?

and it appears that Escort can indeed do what they promise this way as their patents on these new upgrades appear to be all software driven
Well, this is what happens when you can't read schematics and don't know what those little thingys are inside the box diagrams.......you get it all wrong.

It's a completely different hardware architecture than today's analog units. Escort will explain this to you in a few months.

You are obviously referring to SML and their certified group of ninnies that measure RD sensitivity by the number of LEDs that light off during an alert.

We measured signal strength as we did in our Geiger testing. 2/5/9 means a signal strength of 2 of 5 from a distance of 9 miles, 3/5/8.1 means a signal strength of 3 of 5 from a distance of 8.1 miles. Remember we are looking for solid Geiger Effect meaning we would not expect elevated signal strength at nine (9) miles.

Apparently they are just as clueless as we are, just testing one copy of each detector.

And they don't know their radars either.

There are two levels of output. A radar gun with an output power of 5 mW or less is classified as Part 15 under C.F.R. 47. Radar guns in excess of 5mW are classified as conforming under Part 90 and require a license to operate, i.e. RS-Radiolocation, Land Mobile.

It showed the same reception of 33.8 GHZ of the low output Bee III two piece radar gun as it did last year.

The Bee III is a part 90 high output gun.

And an SML exclusive! Valentine and Whistler now make stealth detectors according to their RDD test with the Spectre Elite. Look at those results on their website and tell me how your preferred authority with all those certified yin yangs couldn't figure out their Spectre was broke.

So much for certified LEOs and their test methodology.......

Make Way.......the Buckdarma is leaving port for another boatload of rubber dog crap.

I own a Bushnel radar gun which is a working radar gun and have built a working radar gun which you wouldn't have a clue how to do whatsoever. Your highest qualifications are being ham radio operators and your proud of it I guess.

lots of people own old used ebay radars and have figured out how to turn them on and get a speed to show up.

    They post all over YT.

It doesn't mean anything whatsoever. Police officers go through extensive professional classroom and field training in their use.

    you have absolutely none.

then your little band of whatever you are constantly rags on professionals that actually have it and use trained officers in their tests supervised by both the traffic radar companies that make the radars and the Rd manufacturers that build the detectors ?

    that's rich

It's always the losers of arguments that end up posting childish Photoshopped pictures and the insults

If you base Detector performance on SML test results, then I'm afraid there is nothing I can do to save you.

Yeah, lot's of people own radar guns and you yourself have a real Genuine Bushnel.......makes me wonder now why you desired to see me test the TPX.

    BuckdarmarTestReq.JPG

And certified LEOs obviously know more than I about how Ka Signal filtering works on Radar Detectors, so why didn't you ask them?

    BuckdharmaraQ.JPG

My, you are a persistent little troll no matter how many times you get slapped down. But you are starting to bore me.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Back on topic.

For those who popped into this thread for more than Buckdarma's sideshow and seeking to learn something, I'll explain why the OP was so happy to score that mint condition RX65/S7.

The RX65/S7 is the ONLY windshield mounted detector (other than some even older Bel models with Accusweep) ever produced by Belscort that had the option to switch off RDR (Radar Detector Rejection) filtering via it's Ka USA mode. Other detectors that have similar abilities include the STi-R, STi-R Plus and Valentine detectors via the Ka Guard OFF option. The new Bel Pro300 has USA mode as well, but it does not de-activate RDR in it's USA mode like the RX65/S7 does..........it only does half the task by reducing the Ka Bandwidth being swept to just segments 2/5/8 to cover 33.8, 34.7 and 35.5 (the only Ka freqs used in the US). Reducing the Ka bandwith being swept by itself does not do alot for performance, rather it is the elimination of that RDR filtering that makes the detector quicker and capable of better range to weak Ka signals.

Here are the Ka range test results of a variety of detectors we tested in October. A close look shows that the Pro300 was not advantaged by it's USA mode (which does not disable RDR).

Now a direct comparison of just the detectors that could disable the Ka signal filtering with the filtering on and off.

So we have the M3s (STi-R and STi-R Plus) with a huge 11-13 percent increase, the Valentine's between 7-10 percent and the RX65/S7 with 5 percent improvement. Not too shabby and worth between ~3-8 seconds of advanced warning at 60mph (15 over the PSL where we tested). Depending on the specific situation, this improvement could be greater or less.

The cool thing about the Bels is that with segmentation active, there are still relatively few falses with RDR deactivated because frequencies below 33.7xx are not being swept and this is where most falses to other RD's (LO emissions) show up. The V1 used to not have that capability and falsed like crazy with Ka Guard off.......but with the new V1Connection you can set up custom sweeps in Euro mode to eliminate the sweep below 33.7xx as well.

So good on ya Dudeat30.........the RX65/S7 was an economical AND smart choice.

Are you talking to yourself now?

I see no grand audience here to witness your show of vapid grandstanding.

Yes, who wouldn't believe some low bid ebay radar owning rank amateurs over professionals that actually do this for a living.

    What was I thinking !

You think I haven't seen those Ersatz-ed tests ? Not impressed

I would explain the many reasons why but I don't have a ham radio operators license and that appears to make me unqualified to do so.

The Buckdarma is back in port with a new load of rubber doo-doos.

First off, you are starting to stutter with your double posts.....get control of that.

Next, you would explain the many reasons except you don't have a clue and anything you might attempt to say (of a technical nature) would only verify that.

You really need to stop attempting to compare the Stalker DSR 2x to your coffee can setup.......it's just ridiculous. Why don't you give us a pic of your junior kit project? I want to make sure you have the coffee cans aligned correctly.

And you still haven't addressed the gross errors of your SML professionals I posted in the previous post, or pointed out what the problem was with our radar setup. Oh, that's right, you wouldn't have the foggiest idea of how that Stalker works anyway.

Well, so long as you keep pointing to the "certified Pros" I might as well keep pointing to their gross mistakes.

Check out their POP testing with the MPH Z25 Handheld K-Band gun. WOW! Escort was shocked to see that all their detectors had at least 50% success against that 16ms POP gun........as they never put K-Band POP detection on any of their detectors. Even Valentine would not admit to having much success against that 16ms POP Z25........their K-Band POP detection is only reliable against the 67ms variety from the K-Band Bee III.

Your chances of encountering POP Mode are the same as you driving to the moon? non-existent! This is not an opinion, but a fact. Only three states, Iowa, Oregon, and Nevada ?include POP radar guns on their state contracts. Being on a state contract d

Unfortunately for your "Pros", there was not one of us amateurs there to show them they were operating the gun incorrectly and were in fact shooting standard IO shots.

So how about it Buckdarma? Are you going to do a test and enlighten us with your results.....or give us links to technical articles you have written explaining some functional aspects of how radar works......or give us a video showing something you figured out about a Detector's functional aspects.......or just keep dropping Troll turds and running?

My bet is the last option.
