    Default Family Vacation

Just got back from the  family vacation to NY.

Using the Sti in its default settings around Lockport NY it was "chirpy" with a few too many Kas alerts for my liking. That could get to be annoying very quickly

No problem in Ontario stone quiet. However I guess I'm never going to get to meet the OPP Vixen of St Catherines up close and personal.

In the US, you'll get a good amount of Ka falsing and i feel the same. Mine is going back for sure. I can't stand it specially when LEO"s mostly used Ka here in my state.

When you say it falses, does it really false? or is it just letting you know that there is Ka signal somewhere around? Mine has never "falsed" where there wasn't some type of signal (could be a door, but that is a reawl signal, therefore, not a false)

He was in NY which has hundreds of radar detectors, so it will false due to them. I doubt it would go real high on the LED display though.

That reminds me. When I was in St. Catherines back in 1998, I saw the HOTTEST woman cop (she was OPP) I have ever seen. She had someone pulled over on QEW in St. Catherines, I wouldn't be surprised if someone wrecked their car looking at her.

    Hey Spanky,

    Me Too!!

Niagara Falls - family vacation to the UPS store, and the aquarium of NiagaraFalls. http://www.aquariumofniagara.org/aquarium/index.htm (the older one (3 yr old) loved it... "this is the best day ever"

$50US of stuff from OshGosh to make the visit look 'real',..... plus at customs, I actually didn't buy the STi on this trip..... I bought it 2 days before by phone!!!!!

Constant K false for me at the prime outlets parkinglot while I was reading the STi Manual while my kids were sleeping and wife shopping....

No K falsing to note of back home in ON..... Still learning to interpret the low strength readings.... been 4 yrs seen my V1 saw active duty in Ontario....

Curiously Autoscan had more beeps for me while driving in N. Falls, then Hiway mode....

That doesn't sound right, the autoscan falsing more then in hwy mode. Autoscan works only on X band anyways, at least mine does. I heard that the older 895's filtered on K band too.
