OK, speeding is not a capital offense, but it is still an offense, especially for excessive speeds.

I'm not condoning with the seizure of a car because the owner was speeding, but those choose to speed excessively can't say they were't forewarned.
    By 40 km/h? That's pretty excessively inexcessive.
Yeah, for real, you know that is only 24.85 mph over. Heck, most ppl here probably do 30+ over on a regular basis. Taking your license, I can see, but the car?????????

Yeah, I know what you're on about, it is EXTREMELY excessive I think but thats what our State politicians are doing.

Yup! you lose your car completely if caught doing +40kph twice in a year!

Theres a lot of new laws coming in concerning 'hoons', I don't have a lot of details yet but I will post them when I learn more.

What are you on mate

I'm not going to have my car taken from me, I only go slightly over the limits, maybe by about 10-15 kph at the most :!: so these new laws are not going to affect me so much, however for the young bloke who spends $40-$50 K doing up their pride and joy, just a couple of errors in 12 mths of driving and the whole lot is gone :!:

I agree that an RD is just that. These is NO substitute for common sense!!
I am more than likely a lot older and wiser than you give me credit for

I didnt buy my gear to speed. I bought it to avoid tickets. The radar/jammer is for keeping me on my toes. I have never gotten a ticket for speeding where I wanted to speed. Just so happens that I was.

Note that these laws are still on the drawing board.

At the moment it is only double demerit points for speeding 40+ kph twice in a year, but if you get caught twice in 12 mths Drink Driving you lose your car.
