Thread: M20 on RX8

    Default M20 on RX8

I currently have 2 Blinder units located in the corner of the grill like this:

Unfortunately, it's been really difficult to level the heads properly. Do you think that I'd get ample coverage if the heads are placed here instead. I know that I can get the heads perfectly level here but I don't want to place them there if I'll be sacrificing protection.

Also, are any of you guys who have Laser units located near Columbus, OH so that I can test this set-up

    Thanks

^ The red looks kinda far from the farthest areas on your headlights..... Are they within the "18-inch rule?"

If I were you, I'd try to stay with the green as much as possible. There, at least you have some coverage for center mass and most of the headlights and foglights.

Why is it difficult for them to stay level? Are you using the brackets, or did you just tape the heads instead?

I was using the brackets but it was difficult to set up. I had to cut out the corners of the grill, remove some foam backing behind it and jerry-rig the brackets with zip-ties to a portion of the metal frame behind the bumper. Anyhow, I removed them today since I need to send them to Leon and I think that I'll use 3m double sided black tape when I replace them and I should be able to level them properly that way. I'll post pics when the project is completed

Don't know about 3M black tape, but I use the 3M Automotive molding tape. Holds pretty well. Just check it every so often to make sure water hasn't worked it's way in the adhesive and made the bonding start to seperate.

Where would that be? I've run into a lot of laser traps on 270 near Easton. What about you?

Seen a lot of cops near easton but never shooting laser...I was going ot say 270 by the Dublin Exit, they love sitting under the overpass and nailing people. If you drive by there on the weekend during lunch you will definitely see one of them on either side of the highway...
