Hey guys,

I recently discovered this awesome forum, been reading for a couple days and decided to join today, I just wanted to get your opinions on the location of my blinders in my car, in addition, I have an extra m20 system left over from my old car and was thinking about putting the 2 extra heads in the front of my car

I have attached a pic: (sorry about the huge pic, my hard drive crapped out and I lost all my photo editing software)

Red: Radar detector (Passport x50 Rev5)

Green: Blinder M-20 Extreme

Blue: Possible locations for the 2 extra units




Please let me know what you guys think and if there would be a better location for the units, or if it would be worth it to add the other 2

based on the pic, if that is indeed your car (ie your actual car not an example pic from the net), I wouldn't think you'd need to worry. You've got no front license plate (so the officer would most likely target your headlights) so there's nothing really there to protect. Your lights seem like they're adequately covered by the two transponders to the outside of your hood. You may benefit from using one extra transponder right in the center along the same line as your existing ones, just to give a little better center coverage in case the two outside ones don't adequately overlap in the middle. since there's not really any reflective surface along the bottom edge of your car, putting them there may not really add much of a benefit.

Dont even bother with more transponders. Get the Laser Veil and Laser Shield. Also get smoked headlight covers and veil both sides of those and yuo should become Happya$$ certified

He already has the Blinders right where cops would shoot... why would he want his detector lower, and worsen his radar detection range?

The X50 is more then capable of detecting radar, I think it needs as much help in detecting laser

some situations the detector will detect laser before the blinder

With a Blinder, I'd put the X50 up high. In addition to increasing radar range, it will increase the chances of picking up laser scatter from a trap up ahead when it zaps cars in front of you.

Although mounting high could cause the X50 to miss a direct laser hit on your plates, the Blinder will cover you there.

Thanks guys for all the compliments and great responses, it gives me piece of mind knowing my car is protected, the only thing is, you might not be able to tell from the pic, but that in the section where the blinders are mounted, the grill has chrome stips going across, will that have any adverse affects on the laser reflection?

the best mounting position is for the Escort X50 with a jammer, is to mount it high...Jammer will take care of the laser

I would VEIL coat your headlights however i wouldnot go with smoked headlight covers cause then a cop would have a reason to pull you over


Also get the crom off the fron of your car so for a powered coated grill
