Effect of salt and road debris on a M-20

I live in South Bend, IN and I have a Blinder M-20. Every time I get out the car in the winter and look at the Blinder heads they are covered with salt and other road debris. I always clean them off but they get dirty again very quick. Does this make the the Blinders ineffective?

with all this snow we are getting, its going to stay salted. sr23 is the only road s.b. cares about during a storm.

as for your question, anything that blocks those lenses will hinder range, just like mounting behind glass or partially obscuring it behind a bumper. just keep em clean as best as you can.

hope you avoid those potholes on grape!

Thanks for the reply this is my first winter in South Bend and it sucks. I have not got hit in South Bend by laser yet do they use it here at all.

state boys do but mainly on the highway. the rest a kustom eagle radar units. so for the most part your safe. i chat with alot of the local pd guys when i fix their cell phones, and get all caught up on whats in use. they are getting upgrades now with the new impalas being brought into the force. i believe it was the eagle II ka band
