Can I remount w/o ruining transponders ?

hey,

i had my guy install the blinder but one problem, i told him to put them straight facing the road, and he has them slightly angled along the bumper, this agitated me extremely and i also didn't want to complain, but my question is, they are secured with the mount brackets with four screws per transponder, two screws screwing into the blinder and the bottom on the mount to the bumper . . . if i unscrew them to make them straight, can i rescrew into the blinder transponders or is it all messed up and i need new transponders ? does this make sense, so if i unscrew them from the mounts will i be able to screw it in again to the transponder ? sorry for all the screws . . . will post pix very soon

It will not be a problem. You should be able to take the screws lose from the brackets not the unit. You should only need to move them a little.

It is no problem to unscrew them and re-adjust the mounts.
Make sure everything is snug again, so they don't shift.

No need for pics. the transponders are pretty durable and there is no problem with the screw holes. i played with mine quite a bit to get them straight and level.
the level part is easy with the included level, as for straight, i used a 6' straight edge across the front of my truck to make sure they were parrallel to my front end, since it curves.

Do not over tighten the screws from the unit.
Snug is good and the straight edge is a good trick.
Racer need a job.

You're welcome, that's why we're all here. maybe we can work something out for the installer. :wink: but first look at my install and let me know what you think.

Are they straight to the road?
They look angled with the truck.
This looks good on the truck, but leaves the middle open with a closer shot.
Don't angle them with the truck or car, straight and level to the road please.

Yeah, they're straight with the road, that's why i used a straight edge.
here's a closeup of one of them.

Also, that's why i have a 5th one in the middle to cover the center of the truck. this gives me complete coverage on the whole front end, no matter where i shoot. 5 to 8 transponders gives me full coverage. If for some reason i get punchthrough at close range on the headlights, i can always put one under each light.
