    Default RX65 reacting to blinder?

Hey I was testing my setup the other night and whenever i fired my infared remote at the blinder, my rx65 alerted to a laser. Was the rx65 reacting to the blinder beams or the remote? It was pretty cool though they seemed to be hardwired together

I would think the remote since the rx65 ins't that sensitive to laser that it woulf alert from the jammer firing...the only detector I ever had alert to my jammer firing against the fense i pulled up to was the v1

^ I'm inclinded to go with brother cVr's assessment.

How careful were you, BLUE, to be absolutely sure that your detector couldn't "see" the remote?

You'll see that I had this same, rather embarrassing, problem ->

Is it still possible, though, that the Blinder is triggering your detector? Yes, I would say that's possible, too.

I will refer to Star Wars:

"It is possible, however, unlikely..." that the RX65 is alerting to the Blinder. The RX65 was never that great at detecting laser. I have to agree with CVR the V1 is the only detector I could see doing this.

ANOTHER yet more sinister possibility here: If they are both hardwired on the same circuit, the Blinder going off could be causing some 'noise' in your electrical system, noisy electrical systems are well known to set off LASER alerts on Belscort units... Just throwing ideas out there to check.

Months ago I tested all of my RDs using IR remotes. I finally found "the magic button" on one of my IR remotes which would trigger all of my RDs.

Oh definitely, I totally agree to that.

Possible, but certainly unlikely. Yet, it's a possibility that can't be discounted fully - after all, the Blinder has been known to cross-talk with more than one jammer, and we've yet to determine exactly if the Blinder's unique head setup is in-part to blame for "excessive light spill."

I agree, this is an unlikely scenario, but without conclusive proof, still possible.

    VERY good point!

here is a video of a guy shotting his laser jammer with a remote and his rx65 alerts to laser as he shots the remot at the blinder

^ Again, I'm *not* doubting that - as I replied to your initial answer here, I do think that is the most likely scenario.

However, the OP needs to trace down the other possible causes - including the last and most disturbing one cited by AirMoore, which, IIRC, has happened before.

well i tried it again, making sure that I didnt aim anywhere near the rx65 and it seems it was reacting to the blinder, but thats with a ls parked upfront of it I guess it may of been reflecting off of the ls. Cool effect but not sure about real world possibilities.

Hmmm weird...You have any wall that the blinder beams could bounce off of....

I'll do a test with my next laser jammer and my older BEL v995 to see if it alerts to laser
