    Default Placement on 335i?

    Hi gang,

I got hit by an Ultralyte on the AZ 202 Loop the other day, so it's time to look into laser jammers. I don't think I can convince my wife to spend $700 on LI, and from what I've read, Blinder is the best LED/budget jammer out there.

I attached a picture of my car with two sets of potential placement. Which one would be better?

Oh, and as a followup... You guys will probably chastise me, but I was planning on putting my European license plate (not vanity, my actual plate from my European Delivery) on the front. If I did this, would it be as good as undoing any Blinder addon I may install?

I'm going to have to go red, but without Veil, both spots will probably yield bigtime PTs. It will probably be enough to save you from most LEO encounters though.

Please don't put a plate... I'd say red. Blinder is more than enough in your car...

Yep. Neither location is going to give you comforting performance. Too low. Those big wrap around headlights are going to kill you without Veil. I don't know if you can jam Blinder heads into those vertical grille slats or not, but that would probably be preferable. But even then, you're still going to need Veil.

And I'm sorry, but I have to roll my eyes at anyone who special orders a luxury car from Europe and then balks at $700 dollars for a jammer. Where's the jar your wife keeps your balls in?

Actually, ED (Euro Delivery) is the less expensive way to go in most cases, and you get a nice vacation to boot.

OP - where did you take redelivery? Performance center or local dealer? And I agree with Stealth - get the LIs.

Thanks for the information about the placement. They would fit behind the grille but I thought they shouldn't be blocked. Maybe vertical placement?

Oh and I'll thank you to keep your business out of my finances.

The Euro Delivery was awesome -- It messes with the mind to think I paid less for the car, and got to use the savings to travel Europe!

We drove through Germany, Austria, the Swiss Alps, Italy, Monte-Carlo and all through France. We took re-delivery at the BMW Performance Center in South Carolina.

Is it a good consensus then, that the LIs are powerful enough from those positions to better defend me?

Yes, vertical is what I was referring to. The Blinder is a little thicker than the LI though, so I'm not positive it would work with the BMWs. They're 2cm thick if you want to measure and see. Again, you're definitely going to have to Veil your headlights to get acceptable performance on that car with a 2 head Blinder, and you're still going to get variable punchthroughs. It's just a difficult car to protect.

If you're going to come to our house and ask for advice, you're going to get whatever we want to give you. You can take it or leave it.
