M40 - What's wrong with my install?

So I just wired up the M40 to verify it works before I drop a few hours into installation. Anyways, the green LED doesn't come up. I have little electrical experience and can't figure out what the problem is. Here is what I have done. Add-A-Circuit with 7.5 amp fuse, 5 amp in other spot. Used a red insulated connector to connect that to 18 gauge wire. The wire is then connected to the on/off switch, then shrink wrapped on both sides. That wire is then connected (via female metri-pack terminals, a little larger than the included ones) to theinner most port (closest to the center of the CPU). Note that the original harness was completely apart when I received it. I then shrink wrapped the wire half way along where the metal wire is showing. Then the ground wire, shrink-wrapped the same amount as the power cable, then connected to metal, it is in the middle port. I tried a switched fuse, a continuous fuse and nothing. What am I doing wrong?! Thanks!
