After receiving only one other committed response for Blinder testing in SoCal on 3-20-2010, I am canceling this event. Maybe we can do this in the future if folks can commit to coming and assisting with shipping costs. Thanks!

Anyone interested, we're discussing alternative dates in this thread:

There is no reason why people who attend cant help with shipping cost. If your attending and want to have an idea how much shipping is, it cost roughly $50 one way shipping to pack and ship each gun insured at $1,500 per gun. South Cal meet has at least 5 guns so the minimal shipping cost is $250. I personally rather donate to have my car tested against all those guns than buying them at $1,500 each.
If this event happens I can not attend but I will donate $50 towards shipping for all those who want to attend and test their Blinder jammer.
Next time there is an even like that. I don't mind donating.
Maybe we can have a bbq, or some other social gathering at the same time. This way people wouldn't feel so bad about paying for shipping costs..
This could be fun.
Kind of like the gatherings for my car club.
Hey, I'm sorry the event was canceled, I was looknig foward to testing our jammers out.
Currently, I am in contact with 3 companies and I am working on purchasing 3 maybe 4 Lidar units. I have picked out:
LTI Truspeed
Stalker LZ1
Prolaser III
and I am thinking about an LTI Ultralite...
After I acquire these units... hopefully within a week or two, I want to do Lidar testing. Now from the interest shown, it looks like a lot of people want to do it. All I ask is that whoever comes along to the testing site chips in a little... these units will cost me maybe 4-5k. I am trying to get demo versions to save money. I live in Central California, so if we could organize something closer to me, that would help... I am ok, however, with driving to SoCal.
As soon as I get these units, I am doing my testing within a few weeks of their arrival. I refuse to wait. I am obsessive compulsive, and I must do tests. I will do tests... no cancelations!
So lets set up a date/time/place that can work for us all.
Love,
Oyu
Just remember that simply owning a gun does not qualify you to competently test jammers. Pay a lot of attention to the techniques discussed here, and take the time to attend meets run by experienced shooters. It's not as simple as just aiming and pulling the trigger.
It will take you several events until you perfect using those guns. Targeting cars with jammers is completely different than those without as it require more skills or blind luck. I'm sure you will meet someone at your testing event to show you how to get PT by using cetain methods not disclosed on the forumn. Of the guns you picked, I'll start off with the TruSpeed or Ultralyte as those are the hardest to get JTG and easy to aim at a specific area.
I appreciate any help anyone can give me. =)
