Default Blinder M27 for Fox Mustang

    Hiya folks!
Great site and info you have on this forum!... Got a fox mustang and looking for suggestions to mount an M27. Red orange or yellow...

but theres a catcher on license plate....approx. 25-35mph it folds or becomes practically invisible....because of this i was thinking of putting the head units more toward the head lights...

the yellow is going to be your best bet, but if I were you I would either delete the video, or re film it with your license plate blocked out, same thing on your photo (block out your plate)

There are no really good mounting options on that car. Red is definitely too low. Yellow is too central. And orange involves a major hassle, cutting into your bumper. That would be Plan A. But...

I would fashion some sort of flat bracket to position the heads immediately under the headlights (just above the orange), with the bracket wedged into the groove between the headlight and the body.

Yellow looks most logical, but it leaves the headlights wide open, especially from roadside shots. A Blinder just doesn't have the oomph to cover that far off-axis, like others might.

agreed with SS. i'd cut the bumper and put them in the orange. you wont even see the heads either.

Seriously. It's a lot of work, but if you can bury them inside the black bumper strip, they'll be practically invisible, and very well positioned. Good luck!

Actually it is NOT alot of work. The bumper on the 87-93 Foxes is a plastic composite ~3/8" thick. It can easily be cut into with a body saw / reciprocating saw. On my '86 Foxbody it came with a steel bumper which I replaced with the 87+ bumper to save weight on the roadrace course. Since you have a Fox in the 87-93 year range you will have the plastic composite bumper. Our front nose clip is a polyurethane cover ~3/16" thick which is easy to cut through with a sharp box knife.

Here you can see how I cut out a piece of the bumper cover then cut the holes in the bumper itself. Leaving some room on each end of the cutout for the jammer mounting heads. Measure A LOT, cut once. And making a stencil helps. Dont use a steak knife to cut on your car like some morons do.

The yellow location is not suitable. The crossbar with the Ford badge wont allow you to mount them properly and they will be too close together. The red location is way too low. I would suggest you put it in the orange location and mount your License plate up about 2-3 inches over the MUSTANG logo in the bumper. LEO target the Lic plate so getting it inbetween the heads will help you out.

If you have any additional question specific to a Foxbody install, feel free to ask me since I have actually done it. You can read my indepth install thread here : 1986 LX 5.0 Blinder install

Here's 3 pics of me doing the bumper swap back in '07.
