Default IS blinder useless? Here's why...

From what I have noticed in tests, the Blinder passes, but only up until 200-300 feet then it fails on must guns because of the "punch through." Not a big deal right? Well I think it is because from what I have noticed 3 out of 5 speed traps are well hidden, and w/ strategy. Here's why... most traps are just around a bend or over the top of a hill, WITHIN 200-300 of the bend or the crest of the hill. MEANING even if equipped with the unit you would be likely to get caught BECAUSE of the punch through and the lack of time to slow down. EVEN IF ONLY SPEEDING BY 9 OVER.
This concerns me... Questions, Comments, Advice... POST IT UP!
Thanks in advance for your time!

Default Are they really? Thats truly the best news yet!

Are they really? Thats truly the best news yet! DO you know anything about expected release? Capability, distance of jamming or do they hope for JTG throughout? Expected price? Do ya know if the GOL will be testing the unit and if so how soon after its release? That is very exciting to hear, hopefully it won't take like a year for release.

Just call up Leon. He loves talking on the phone, especially when you go off on tangents about blowing through laser speed traps. He really likes that

Do you know if this is the MFG prototype that was tested at the last GoL that performed so well?

Will the LED be able to be retro-fitted to the current Blinder Unit? I am sure it will not so everyone can spend $$$ to upgrade.

Just an observation...........

Knowing nothing about any of these jammers; LED or laser diode.

I can surmize (Swammy sayz) that if the output or aim of the "heads" isn't where the LIDAR beam goes (aimed), you won't jam to gun.

This is where I see Veil helping out cutting down the rest of the reflection back to the gun.

The LIDAR beam spreads out to 3' x 3' wide at 1,000 feet and most of these current LIDAR guns is a three beam intensity. Alignment of the LIDAR beam CAN get past the jamming heads' "cast" pattern IMHO. but everythings gotta line up perfectly in the LEO's favor.
......and IMHO it won't be your head alignment either........ the curve of the road or lane. The elevation changes. The angle the LEO sets up off the side of the road; left - right, BDL or deep inthe woods..............all these elements come into play.

Read my posts if you don't believe me.

I can get down to 2" on a LIDAR beam between 7 - 30 feet.

So if the head alignment (or better: OUTPUT) doesn't cloak the front (or rear) surface area of the vehicle well enough, then punch through WILL HAPPEN, more so at closer range IMHO.

.......................because I feel the head output diverges (spreads) just like the LIDAR laser diode beam does........

So for both the jammer head and the LIDAR beam, both are smaller the closer you are................

What if the officer targets you from a bridge overpass and lights up your roof? IMHO most head alignments wouldn't help THAT scenerio.....

Don't get me wrong. I LIKE the jamming idea. If not illegal in most states, it should save you from an unfair sweep or panning lidar reading in the court systems favor.....................

IMHO, this scenerio is every rural town road, or urban block......

Interstate citations via LIDAr (IMHO) average well over 1,000 feet.

Range I've seen was been 700 - 1700 feet.

See what this PA officer said about HIS own personal tactics............

I usually set up in an urban area and most ranged out between 600- 1700 feet."

Default GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE NEW BLINDER!

Okay so after JTW stated there is an newer release expected with stronger LEDs I became curious. I then contacted Blinder about the "future" product, and here is what they had to say:

"I'm thinking two months, no word on pricing again from what we hear an extra $50. Nothing is in writing, they will not relase any product without a full testing. Keep in touch."

I hope this is helpful to those curious about the newer, stronger, better blinder.
