whining noise

Ok so im starting to hear a whining noise coming from my engine bay (or so I think) (Only when the sound system is paused or muted) it sounds like a spooling turbo charger (in that it also only emits that noise under load while the RPMS are a bit higher than about 2500), but I know i dont have a turbo, it started around the time I got my exhaust if that means anything, any input would be greatly appreciated

I mean I like the sound and all but id like to maybe know WTF it is

I get that noise when I listen to my Ipod if it is plugged into my cig lighter, it is alternator whine I don't know who to get rid of it, but now you know what it is called. The sound should come from your speakers.

thanks guys, while I actually think its coming from the bay or out of the deck itself the speakers make more sense, getting into the front speaker leads

funny cuz the SAME thing happened to my Brother's Celica after we replaced his deck too, so now it REALLY makes sense

Check grounds/proper connections. wires shouldnt be exposed. If one contacts it can cause bad things. Put butt connectors where exposed wires are (or shrink rap ****).
