    Default Gtimer runs

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb_uKDfYkW0

    Borrowed my friends Gtimer and had a little fun with it on an empty street.

    Run 1
    0-60 = 6.6
    60' = 2.55
    1/8 = 9.87
    MPH = 76.9
    1/4 = -

    Run 2
    0-60 = 6.35
    60' = 2.42
    1/8 = 9.65
    MPH = 77
    1/4 = 14.85

    Final Run
    0-60 = 6.32
    60' = 2.45
    1/8 = 9.67
    MPH = 77.2
    1/4 = 14.75

    Numbers on the last run looks off....

    Anyway this was just for fun, I am in no way making any claims that these numbers are accurate.

    Best recorded time I got at a track:
    R/T = .205
    60' = 2.255
    330 = 6.344
    MPH = 55.59
    1/8 = 9.703
    MPH = 72.88

    I should pick one of those up. I used to run a vericom back in the day, it was like having a big VCR suction cupped to your window

    It's definitely a cool toy - I still have the first-generation G-Tech Pro, but I will upgrade to either the RR or the SS, when my piggy-bank allows.

    The thing to keep in-mind, as you said yourself, f_399, is that this type of thing is usually best used not to quantify absolute performance, but to keep as a "relative" record for quick and easy personal reference.

    There's quite a few enthusiasts I know who've been to the strip (and on the dyno) with these things, and have said that this device proves a very consistent measure of the vehicle's performance data. Thus, when referenced back to true track timing and/or dyno runs, you can "adjust" for the differences seen, and figure out where you are in terms of how your new modifications have impacted performance, without having to go to the trouble of going to the strip or paying for dyno pulls.

    Watching that video reminds me....

    I keep looking at other options - AutoMeter, for example, recently came out with a "performance meter" that fits into a standard circular gauge opening, and can thus be dash/pod/pillar mounted.

    I wonder how accurate each of the different brands are, compared to each other?

    I know that most of my friends/acquaintances all seem to prefer the G-Tech Pro series, but I don't know if this is just because they're like me...had the original and liked it, so now it's time to upgrade, or if there's some true advantages to the G-Tech units?
