    Default Legal or not?

In what states is it legal to ride in the back of a pickup truck without a top attached?

Texas is the only state I know of that you can ride in the back of a truck without a top and without seatbelt restraints, and the person riding in the open bed must be over 18 years of age.

Its not legal in most states since the back doesn't have seatbelts. Exceptions are usually given to farm work though.

They give a crap about driving 65 on a six-lane. Just not about driving 55 on a two-lane with six people in your pickup bed.

Here in Washington the law states that if all seatbelts are used in the truck then additional people may seat back up against the sides of the bed....
