Think I might get a Honda

VF1000 Interceptor...

Should I go for it?

If you are a motorcycle mechanic, that would be nice when you are done fixing it up. I had a '84 VF750F Interceptor, and it was pretty nice, real nice back in it's time.(88hp, about 475 lbs) The V4 has lots of power, but some of them would eat their cams prematurely. Oiling problem. It ws fixed in latter years. The 1000 is kind of top heavy. Those repairs it needs are not cheap either.

What kind of prices are you talking about? I am pretty new to the machines of two-wheeled variety, although if I got it I would definately be the one with the wrenches.

If you were paying U$ for parts and mechanic's time, I could see those three repairs in the $500-$1000 range easy. Cut that in half for parts only, but it's been a few years since I've talked to moto mechanics. You could always call around and see what they are locally.

Those were really nice bikes in their day. I also really liked the Nighthawks. I think the 750's were plenty enough power.

I don't ride anymore, I would just get myself killed.
