You are going to get smartass comments asking these types of questions. Like saying "Yeah, I don't use my brakes.. I just downshift into high RPMs to slow my car down". Don't assume things and screw your car up... I'm sure you don't do it with other things in life.

As far as I can tell from your car and your driving... you have clear turn signals and don't know how to drive a manual transmission. Sounded like you also hated our advice. Take it or go buy a new transmission.

What the **** do my turn signals have to do with my driving ability? Im sure that anyone that does anything cosmetic to their car, is a **** driver. Sure I may not know that I was harming my tranny by not using my clutch, but I sure as **** know that I can drive my car. I do know how to drive a manual tranny, thats what I learned to drive with, thats what I have been driving for the last 4 years, with no tranny or clutch problems.

I asked a question and I got an answer(eventually), I dont need people telling me that I am retarded for asking, or not knowing. What would happen if people didnt ask questions? Im sure you were born knowing everything, right? STFU and let people ask questions, if you think it is common knowledge, and the person asking is a moron for asking it, let other people answer, and keep your smartass comments to yourself.

If you're doing this to your helical-cut gears, you'll probably need to replace them soon, so I'd suggest looking into replacing them with straight-cut gears, which won't be damaged by shifting without the clutch. They are, of course, very noisy.

I'm sure you've already tried, but happens when you double-declutch on this one?

    X 2 on that one!

In neutral coming to a stop gently hold pressure on putting it in first gear and it should go right in at 1-2 MPH with no clutch.

ok.... now im on noTe's defence.

i used to rebuild trannys on a weekly basis for a standard mazda team. this we had to do because the guys didnt use the clutch during the race to save a few hundreths between shifts. basically what it amounts to is left foot braking and rev matching. i do this when i go through the mountains (and even then i blew a tremec tko) after a few of these shifts you kiss your sync's goodbye, even having them REM coated will only prolong the inevitable damage. it is a wise thing to learn how to heel toe brake as that is the most economical way to slow the car as it prevents overheating of the brakes in racing, and puts the lest amount of stress on the tranny preventing it from having to first match the engines speed suddenly then having to slow the force of the engine.

and before people jump on my case against working on a "race car" mind you we used a bone stock sealed 13b rotary, and a vw transaxle with a modified tailsection to allow for a different shifting location. mind you these trans cant almost even handle 85ft lbs of torque.

so in lesson, we learn that
    1) left foot braking is bad for your trans and WILL blow it eventually...if you dont believe me drain your fluid and look at the chunks. even red line shock proof trans fluid is short term too help
    2) learn heel toe braking and modify your your pedals to suit your feel for jabbing the pedals. you will grind the trans the first few times and will make the car lurch. its normal, just practice and you will get good. go to a local road race course and take a few classes of even a test and tune evening (gingerman raceway in south haven, mi has $60 test and tune nights) to learn how it works and just go in a beginner run group.

btw dog, you have a integra im assuming. those have a very weak feel to the tranny. you may not hear the grinding or prob not even feel it with the way those bushings are configured for the stock style shifter. so chances are your doing a massive amount of damage to your trans and wont know it til to late.

We motorcycle guys shift up and down all day long without the clutch. Only use that badboy to take off from from a standstill and when comming to a stop. Of course you can do that with sequential gears.

You guys in here are mean!!!

I don't down shift to first to accelerate, that's crazy talk, when I come to a complete stop I just tend to shift into first smoothly without letting out the clutch and come to a complete stop.
