Hey guys. Being that gas will never stop going up, and my Cadillac starting to get some age on it, I think I will be investing in a 4cyl. Give me some suggestions. I'm thinking of Honda, they are usually a safe bet. That or an older VW Golf GTI. Something I can mod, but still get good gas mileage. Tell me what you think.

Get a GTI with the 1.8T. Take it to an APR installer and have them install the 93 octane program and the valet program with the Flipswitch setup. When you want to have some fun, hit the cruise control stalk and it'll be all fun and go fast. When you want to save gas, hit the stalk again and it'll be a slow, boring, very fuel-efficient four-banger again.

If ure going to get a 4 cycl at least get a 2.3 or higher however if you want to save more gas get a 2 or below. like a rotary rx-7 or 8....

Last time I checked, the most innovative 4 cyl engines were 2.2 l or smaller. They are also the ones with the best gas mileage and seem to be the most capable. This isn't even considering motorcyle engines which are in another league.
