Compare and contrast

08 BMW M3 vs 07 Audi RS4. I'm not sure I can put one over the other except for price. The M3 is selling at a premium right now and no used examples are on the market yet.

Or, on the practical side. And plain Audi S4 vs BMW 335 coupe

I like to spend money and upgrade my cars and for that reason i would choose a M3. Honestly its the only BMW i would buy. Im not familiar with the Audi at all so it could have better after market support then the BMW but im not going to bash it because i simply lack the knowledge.

I'd have to go with the Audi Erick... just because in my opinion I can't stand the look of the newer M3.

I think the 335i is the best out of all of these. Best engine, BMW handling, available with xDrive AWD...my favorite.

The RS4 would be my second choice. Still a great engine, legendary Quattro standard, very imposing looks though not as sleek as the 3. Weight distribution is dodgy, the engine is just waaay too far forward.

M3 is my next choice. Basically a 335 with a questionable engine and no AWD option, for more money. Lighter though, which is always good!

S4 is the last choice. It's not a bad car, but something about getting an S4 would always bother me...I'd always be thinking I'd only gotten halfway to the RS

Oh and I drove by a blue E92 M3 today. Interesting because I see tons on C63s and RS4s but I can't remember the last time I saw an E92 M3 (of course we have E46 M3s crawling all over the place like cockroaches).

Interesting thing...when you see 'em in person, the E92 M3 isn't really imposing like the E46 M3. It looks FAST, but it doesn't look like it's going to try to beat you up

I really don't get the same idea when I compare the regular E46 and E92 3 Series models.

The M3 has a more serious look to it. Performance wise, I like how the M3 sounds high RPMs. Also, the M3 has a higher resale value than the RS4. I hope you don't join the Audio-Quattro team, lol...

Wow i didnt realize they changed the look of the new M3's. Ive always been a fan of the older ones. (02-03 i believe)....

Ok, lets have it. What would you suggest?? I've done Japanese, American and Sweedish. I think it's time to see what the Germans got.

BTW: Something to consider. I'm a raggedy kind of guy. never shave, have un-kept hair stay drunk, smoke cigars all the time, and generally wear motorsports tshirts and flip flops as much as possible. So my current GF thinks the M3 might be a bit dressy for me. I'm not sure what dressy means but she thinks it's a misfit. She likes the rally sport vibe from the RS4 which I like too. She does like the MCoupe as well but I kind of iced on that ride because after some research the MCoupe carries the same Damacles motor as the E46 M3 did. er, or E-whatever motor. The puzzle that is BMWs relentless pursuit of perfection puzzles me as to which ones which. The one that had the spec-ed shaft bearings that was blowing engines. The ones that BMW didn't respec because the MCoupe doesn't have as high a rev limit as the M3.

Actually, I went out to the web during this post to check my facts but I'm drunk and once again it was a sea of E the E that, and I got confused and took a nap. Maybe I'm not smart enough to drive a German car.

This is definitely not true. I see soccer moms and trophy wives driving Bimmers all the time.

On your topic of consideration, is a 911 out of the question? Just a thought.
