    Default Nissan 370z?

I live in MI and was thinking about picking up a 370z. It would be for mostly highway driving and little "city" driving. Anyone have one that would like to rave/rant?

I saw vids on youtube and it has a syncrorev system which is supposed to be revolutionary in the auto industry ( it auto blips the engine on downshifts).

PS. I have never driven a manual car but if I purchase this it would definitely be a manual tranny.

Awww you're never going to learn to heel-and-toe now!

I think there's SOMEBODY on here with a new 370Z, but if not, Z1NONLY has the closest thing (350Z).

While they're not exactly the same cars as a 370, I have a 350 and my fiancee has a G37. We like them both very much and haven't had many problems. Make sure you get a clear bra installed within the first week if you decide to buy one. Nissan paint is about as hard as talcum powder.

Thanks. I watched some videos on youtube and the syncrorev system looks pretty tight. Hopefully that will help me learn stick shift.

I won't even be able to drive this baby home though. I'll have to get someone to help me, until I learn stick.

A nice looking car for the money I just hate my neighbors though. I hate how he drivers and hate that he must rev the engine up before he shuts the car off and before he leaves in it.

It took me a while to figure this out (my left foot just didn't want to listen to what my brain was thinking ), but the most important thing to remember when learning is that you will always do better by letting the clutch out slower. Everything becomes easier and your clutch is unlikely to be affected by a few hundred miles of moderately increased wear. Even if you've never driven a stick before, you should be able to at least get started by revving the engine to about 2000 RPM and then just releasing the clutch as slow as you think you possibly can. It'll take a while to get moving and you don't want to do this forever, but each time you do it, you'll get a little more "feel" in your foot and be able to do it faster and easier. And once you're already rolling, you can't really go wrong too badly if you don't skip gears (even when it feels like you're "rowing" the handle back and forth, resist the temptation to skip at first) and you don't downshift when you mean to upshift. Just put your left foot in, notch the lever into place, and when you let go, inertia will (mostly) take care of the rest until you get smooth.

One other tip that helps even advanced drivers: Shift with just your fingertips. It sounds weird but it helps.

hell yea get it, I plan to trade in my old 3-series and upgrade to a 370z sport, nav in white. I will use it for daily driver, autocross, and track days.
