Sure! Don't you remember the fine vehicles such as the (Geo/Chevy) Prizm, Tracker, and Metro?

If you don't, I can't blame you. They were hardly memorable.

I think the metro got about the same gas mileage as a prius without all the batteries and crap

Well a base cobalt will still get better mileage than a prius without all the batteries and crap. The priui are just **** boxes made popular by fanatical tree hugging liberal save-the-earth hippies.

That's too bad. I was hoping the Penske deal would work too.

The "GM kills Saturn after Penske ends deal..." headline is kind of ironic because they really killed Saturn when they stopped operating them as a truly different business and just made it another GM marque. I'm not a GM basher but they had something unique with Saturn and they let it go. Of course, hindsight is 20/20, and it's easy to be an armchair automotive exec.

I thought the Aura and Vue looked like decent vehicles in their class, the Astra seems pretty cool and is a car that might have been one I'd look at for myself, and I liked the Sky quite a bit. I wouldn't know the Outlook crossover if it ran me over, though.

From a story I read not long ago.

Its early promise faded amid weak sales, years of bland cars and a marketing message that was lost in G.M.’s overstocked inventory of brands. G.M. threw money at Saturn, but never made a profit even during its best times. Analysts estimate that Saturn has lost as much as $20 billion over the last 24 years.

“It may well be the biggest fiasco in automotive history since Ford brought out the Edsel,” said Jerome York, a former G.M. director and an aide to Kirk Kerkorian, the investor who has made and lost hefty sums investing in G.M., Chrysler and Ford. “Saturn has been a huge money loser for G.M. for a long, long time.”

    So really this isn't surprising.
