You know, I had this red Saab 900 that was really badly sun-faded (only on the horizontal surfaces, hood, roof, part of hatchback). You'd run your hand over the paint and it would be red I gave it a good washing and waxing (some Mother's stuff in a black can...) and wow, looked really really sharp. I wonder what this 100x more expensive stuff would do 8)

For the most part any old wax or polymer sealant will do! However if your looking for a deep wet look/shine you can't beat a high quality wax, the only bad thing is how long it last's!

For the price I like to use Nu-Finish car polish on my vette, its a once a year car polish but I do it every 3 months because of the rain in Washington. As regarding the questions about wax looking nice and than bad, here is my experience. Waxing your car will always look good off the bat when its done. After a while in dry weather your car will collect dust. Get one of those california dusters and you can always dust off the dust and make look real shiny again. If you let rain get on it, there is really no avoiding it. Rain is dirty, also you pick up alot of components when driving on wet roads, mud, etc. You will just have to wash your car if it gets rained on. The dirt spots are normal to appear after its done raining and dries up. Take it from a guy who lives in the rain.

I can wipe the rain droplets off as if they were dust. Shouldn't they be repelled though?

i've used many over the years.. mainly turtle wax, auto glym,

they have both given really good results....

key thing is dont do it in sun light, it tends to bake the wax on too hard..

how old is your wax, has it gone off...
