I didn't quite qualify the original post... this was a rental car. I'm used to driving a lot of different cars but this one bugged me because of the lag....
I noticed the same, and mine was a Rental too.
Did you also notice that if you're in Neutral, the rev limiter stops the rev at 4000 ish RPM?
I wonder if the rental companies flash the ECU/ECM (whichever term is correct) with a slower, "dummy" settings.
