Default Who's pre ordering the $41,000 Chevy Volt?

LOL at Chevrolet, pricing this POS at $41K. Seriously? Forty one thousand. LOL. I guess they are counting on our tax dollars to get people to buy it. Awesome.

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- General Motors Co. said Tuesday that Chevrolet dealers are now taking orders for its electric car, the Volt. The Volt, which starts at $41,000, will first be available late in the year in California, New York, Michigan, Connecticut, Texas, New Jersey and the Washington D.C. area. The car is eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500.

Me neither. Well, maybe I'll grab a pre-owned one at half the price...

I haven't. I want to see how the volt works out in the real world before I would consider getting one. Of course at that price I most likely would be buying a used one.

Given the depreciation of Chevy's, half price won't take long.

Wow, that's pretty brave ... new model, new technology, Chevy, and these organizations are going to trust it? All to score points with the green crew? I look forward to buzzing a few of these things at 8500 RPM.

I worked on the volt, let me tell you money was wasted on the wrong things, some pieces are overly cheap others are way to expensive. Look at the center stack, touch senstive buttons but at the same time the seats are manual and made of cheap materials. Same thing with the door panels, I have seen better ones on a geo metro. Trust me when I say that that car would make a profit if they sold it at 25,000 but they want to make as much money as they can on them.

O'bummers subsidies helping GM. High MSRP (with plenty of cash on the hood, year round) will help their owners feel proud driving an "expensive" car.

$41K is just the starting price too ... are there going to be $50K Volts with options? Anyone in a $50K Chevy that's not called a Corvette got hosed bad.
