XRS-9930 compared to ?
Hey guys i have a x50 in red and after bringing that home by dad wanted a new RD..... He has an old Cobra(i know they suck) but I can get aXRS-9930 for $150 brand new.... Is there any other RD that ahd the same features for the same price($150) yett better ?
Any Cobra is not worth 150. If you want a good radar detector for cheap go for a Whistler Pro 73. Please don't waste your money on a Cobra...give me the 150...I will use it. :wink:
The Whistler Pro-58 is < $100, pro-73 is around $100, 1793SE is around that $150 price tag you're aiming for.
The all have the same (very nice, especially given its price) exact detection performance but the higher models have varying degrees of luxury features.
I've got a brick I'll sell you for $150. Not sure if it has POP mode.
Seriosly though get the Whistler. Far better performance and your dad won't bug the crap out of other RD users.

Fantastic detector for the price.
Look into that new Whistler XTR 690 thats going in a few months, under $199 and is suppose to have decent range. Has a few extras like a compass and a voltage reader.
get the XTR but if your father wants it now the PRO-73 offers plenty of protection for the price
Don't forget about the Bel Vector 940. I have one and i really like it. Great range and you can get it for about $139.
YEAH that to any mid range detector from whistler or BEL will be good he will be satisfied.
