Yeah....what was I ever thinking....I own a radar detector...therefore I obviously can NOT become a cop! Silly me.

LOL at this thread. Whether traffic cops are arseholes or not depends on jurisdiction and how they operate in the job.
In my local area, traffic cops specialise in booking people who havent noticed the speed limit changed when the time changed for school zones - they do this when there are no kids around too, and where its easiest to enforce not where its most dangerous (we have school zones for instance outside schools with pedestrian overpasses, on roads that are fenced off).
thats just an effort to take an ordinary citizen who is trying to do the right things and ****ing up their week. - fine empathic human beings.
besides that, as a police officer you do have a choice in life- you can choose to try and protect the people from violent scum bags, thieves etc, or you can choose to do the easiest job in the game, where you get to demonstrate your power by booking law abiding citizens for minor infractions. Imagine having a job where your measureable outcome is to ruin the day of a couple of dozen ordinary people each day - couls be worse could sell used cars I suppose.
;D
This discussion has come up before. Some LEOs are Dbags but most are professionals. Most speeders are Dbags but some are professional. If you want to be a professional speeder keep it professional. I don't think name calling and posturing are very professional, keep it clean and neat and things will generally fall your way.

I like that erickonphoenix - good call.
fwiw, from what i've read of fritters posts, he's aiming for the fastest 1% or so, and lane changers and such - thats fair enough, and you can tell by his ticket count that he's not ticketing evrything he can. But for every fritter there's another guy getting the fastest 30 tickets he can for the day so he hang out at maccas ;D.
And lets face it - there are only 2 types of interactions I have with police, one positive, one negative - all my negatives have been with traffic police - cant help but be judgmental based on the experience.
