On the lighter side of Cobra

My dad bought me a radar detector as a birthday gift. At first I was really excited because you know how Cobra is ultra flashy with their s***. Well in my excitement I searched endlessly for reviews on my new XRS 9700 and luckily found this site. Unfortunatley,I read the Cobra section which was a reeeeeaaaaalllll downer...... :shock: . I drive a 2001 Honda Accord Coupe V6 with an AEM cold air, so I automatically like to push the limits here and there . Now I've had this radar detector for about a month and so far I have nothing bad to say about it. It's saved me twice and dectects K,KA from up to a mile away. I won't deny that it falses here and there, but other than that, I feel like it's a perfectly content RD. I know of course that there are plenty other better ones and that Cobra does overcharges like b****. Now my question is my I have a Beltronics Express 916 sitting at home which has served me valiantly. Is that RD better than my XRS9700 and should I use that one instead?

I'd wager they are pretty close. The 916 *might* be a little better on K, but i'd bet they'd be rather similar. If laser is a big concern, the Cobra will be better than the Bel for that.

Man that is sad that this old RD can almost outperform my new Cobra. :roll:

The express series has remained largely unchanged since the 910. The main differences are the displays. I bought my mom a Bel Express 925 and it's done pretty well for her. K range in most scenarios is just barely behind my RX65.

Yeah I think so too, I have the Vector (85 one of bells older RD but its is just as good as the top three in my opinion! I know when you have had your Cobra and it saves you , you get all happy but when you go from a cobra to a Higher end detector, you will sirously laugh at yourself for even thinking that you cobra was even decent. LOL

This is no joke LOL I was totally shocked at my 985 for the first month I had it, the whole time I was driven around with a cobra , what the hell was I thinking. LOL
I call it lack of information!!!!
