    Default Sensitivity, Sensitivity, Sensitivity!

I am already tired of the boring argument that the difference between a 9500CI & V1 is like comparing apples to oranges.

Today on my way out of town, I would like to prove to you that any comparison is indeed VERY VALID, and you should take NOTICE. As I've said before at heart there primary mission is to DETECT RADAR.

Today after about a mile of getting onto I-64W my 9500CI alerted strongly to 33.8 and I coasted down to the legal speed limit. Then as the ramp up is dying down, I get another hit and it goes back to full strength. All this while my incredible freak 3.813 V1 is quiet as a church mouse. Once I could visually see the officer and noticed he was running FORWARD FACING 33.8, that's when the V1 finally ALERTED. When I was in the Kill Zone.

So why did I post this in the GoL section?

Because I've already heard the zombies screaming that during our mini radar test we used a non-real world scenario. When in fact the primary purpose of the test like everything we do in GoL is to make things as hard as possible for what ever product we are testing. In return you find out what performs the best in the absolute worst case scenario. Today I would like to think an officer setting on the crest of a hill shooting forward facing 33.8 is a pretty WORST CASE.

    What say you Zombie?

I say if you bolt the V1 to the bumper right next to the 9500, it'll probably alert just the same

Wow, That’s ludicrous detection range and very impressive

So if the STI and the CI use the same basic horn/antenna how would you explain the huge advantage the CI has?

No i don't think so, that would be a good test though. Plus havn't people done that already?

John Turner sells a remote mount kit for the V1 but it's crazy expensive. At the end of the day it's not going to make a difference. My V1 is mounted a good 3 / 4 FT higher than the CI antenna and it's still getting destroyed.

Yeah and wasn't it almost 1000 feet more than the v1? There's no way you can compare that. The windshield isn't going to reduce sensitivity like that

**** I NEED AN STI-R for TRUE STEALTH!

or a 9500ci that has no shifter BS!

    STI-R is $700 on ebay ...

BUT THAT IS STILL MORE THAN ALL MY COUNTERMEASURES COMBINED LOL

Any time any of the detectors goes off I always start a silent 1 - 1 thousand count down in my head.

For this encounter it was 15 seconds, from the initial alert before the V1 made a peep going 70MPH.

On average the 9500CI will alert 10 seconds plus before the V1 on X-Band.
Most of the time the V1 doesn't even alert to these very low powered off axis doors.

On K band the average has been around 5 to 7 seconds.

For Ka I've not had enough encounters to come up with an average. Due to all the Ka encounters I had where before I remounted the antenna.

Oh and I have to throw in the last Zombie Argument and squash it. Why am I running them both at the same time?

During the mini-radar test I did 3 runs w/ 34.7 with both of the units on, and both alerted within 10 to 20FT of the original alerts with only one powered on.

I only had time to do one run with K band, but the results where +-50 FT.

So there is NO INTERFERENCE. And if there was it would be the V1 screwing with the 9500CI.
