And their web site looks cheap compared to their competitors' web sites.
I will say they are very prompt about returning an email or a phone call.

Another nice thing about the LA gun -- it has a white case which won't cook inside a patrol car if left powered on and in direct sunlight. I have seriously considered painting my STi's case white both for the novelty of it and because it will stay cool in the summertime even if I leave it on the windshield in sunlight when I park my car. Plus it would look a lot like one of those toll road autopay thingies rather than like a radar detector.
I would think that the company who could cut a great deal on both lidar and radar units would be the one to win out on the biggest/most contracts.
Yeah, exactly. Kustom is the big dog in name recognition, and already has well over half of the radar market share in the U.S. Plus, they are now a subsidiary of PSE, which owns Code-3, who holds one third of the total lights and siren market. That gives them the "one stop shopping" advantage with police departments. They can cut prices on laser for the big departments, and make up for it elsewhere. Kustom is a great product, for sure. But it sure wouldn't be my first, or even second choice.
<<<To answer your question, the manufacturer of "Your" jammer said that the Stalker LZ1 was all about brute power. You own the guns, go check out the intensity of the beams and the reflections using an IR camera.>>>
Transmition of light is only one part of the equation. Don't forget about the reception part. The sensor in one gun may be more sensitive that that of the other.
I believe the only way to test would be to obtain baseline readings from each with the same target, at the same range at the same position and time of day.
