Default Atlanta Jammerfest June 6, 2009 Test Results

    Hi everyone,

Below are links to the test results for the Georgia Testers Group's June 6, 2009 Atlanta Jammerfest event. Hopefully I have correctly compiled all of the written data (fingers crossed). Below is a preview image for the four page PDF document link. Also included is a link to a GIF image which you can easily view online.

    Notes:

    • Most of the initial test runs for the new Blinders were performed from a shooting location which was located a good 75 feet back from the road and up the slope of a grassy hill. All of those test runs were with the temporarily installed Blinder heads mounted such that their sensors were located inwards or nearer the center of the truck's grille. The group fairly quickly determined that the temporarily installed heads were not level, that the heads needed to be flipped in order to orient the sensors outwards, and that our shooting location was just way too far away from the road. We stopped, moved our shooting location, properly reinstalled the new Blinder heads, and then started the testing procedure over again.

One of the rear heads was bad that is why the numbers are bad I think

It is interesting to note that the modified ZR4's and the ZR3's mounted on the M6 and Mustang are mounted low and are more or less under the headlights. I plan to modify my other set of ZR4's and mount them low under the headlights. That way next time direct comparison testing of the higher yet closer together versus lower yet farther apart mounting locations can be made.

One of the rear heads on my SLK had a malfunction that became noticeable after a few runs. It is unlikely that it was operating correctly at any point that day, leaving just one working rear head. Also, I did not wear my lucky hat.

Thanks, MEM-TEK. This is good stuff.

I got a call from Laser Interceptor a few minutes ago - so Cliff's Crazy Customer Service Part 33 should be the new heads I'm getting to try out against the LRB next time. His don't have an issue with the LRB, but I've been eaten alive the last two runs when running LIs only against the LRB. It's the only gun I've had significant trouble with; glad to see it might be an equipment issue rather than a design issue.

I don't think we made any runs with the new M47 from the closer shooting location. All were from the grassy area if I remember correctly.

Found a couple short videos of the first runs we made before we corrected the leveling and sensor orientation. You can see the extreme angle the jammer was up against after 250 feet or so. We later moved to the paved area right in front and a bit to the right of where this shot took place.
