They also go after a lit cigarette spun over your head on the end of a fishing line. Not that I know this from experience! lol

Trust me, I tried to record it. I couldn't accurately target a sea gull, while holding a camera in one hand and the laser gun in the other. It's just not possible. It's hard enough to do without the camera. As you know, targeting a bird that moves in three dimensions is a hell of a lot harder than targeting a car moving in only two dimensions.

Yeah, do not leave a bag of chips on your towel at the beach. They won't last 30 seconds.

You're welcome, but that's not sarcasm!! It's I can't believe how ignorant people are on how lidar works. You seem to think it's a pinpoint beam of light only aimed at your license plate and that by obscuring your plate you are home free. At 1000' the average lidar beam is three feet in diameter. If the LEO moves the lidar gun one or two degrees he has covered your entire car and probably part of the car next to you.

How do you think putting some tape on a front license plate is going to do anything. I don't even have a front plate on one of the stealthiest profile cars in the world, made of composite materials, and I can get instant readings at almost 4000'. I just can't imagine what is going on in your head that makes you think covering the front plate is going to make even an the smallest difference in how you are picked up on lidar.

Putting 3M tape over your plate might help if you had a set of jammers, especially if it was a weaker jammer, but it will not make ANY difference without a jammer. The purpose of passive countermeasures such as Veil and laser shield is to help your jammer by reducing the lidar hotspots and thereby making the jammer effectively stronger.

I can't believe Silent Stalker hasn't been on here recently. After threads like this I 100% understand how noTe feels.

They do work on the roof of your car man, if you are detecting space ships of course.

    Yep 100% correct.
Drive at speeds around 90 to 100mph with clear duct tape all over the headlights, license plate, and the front of your hood if you can manage that. Cobra Industries have shown that if you purchase one of their detectors and wrap your car with their special duct tape, you will be invisible to police radar and lidar.
