    Default LIDAR rental advice

I was thinking to rent a LIDAR gun to do my own testing, since there is no one in SEA area with a gun look like it. Can anyone tell me please, what the process to rent one be like, how much, and which LIDAR would be best to rent to get an idea how good my set up is? Thank you!

PM SurfDaddy or RadarRob for lidar gun rental. Every gun is different and the best way to know your install is to try them all. If I personally had to pick one gun, I'll rent the Ultralyte LR-B only because it has a tight narrow beam, easy to aim, and tough to jam. Do find a place to shoot cars randomly on the streets for at least 1 hour before testing your car. This will give some pratice on how to use the gun. I have personally seen people get JTG with the ultralyte on cars without jammers because they never used a lidar gun before. When testing, aim directly at each headlights and center mass with a help of a tripod. This will key in your big targets. After your happy with your results, aim at "other" places where you think is a weakness and aim everywhere on the car.

Thank you for the exellent info Not that easy to get a hold of Ultralyte LRB, so might have to go with LZ-1 or even Truespeed. Would those two be any good?
Also, found that web site. TruSpeed Rental Home. Anyone knows about it? Truspeed for the week-end? Price is not bad either

Truspeed is easy to jam hard to detect.

I personally would find the gun that is most popular in your area and test with that one. Some setups perform really well against some guns and poorly against others. If you have a weakness against the popular gun you have big problems.

The Ultralyte and TruSpeed will help to pick apart any small weakness in your install and placements. A good shooter is needed for this. TruSpeed's beam is more narrow and easy to jam than the Ultralyte but the Ultralyte packs a punch. With both guns, you cant jam them unless you can pick up the scatters. If you can pick up the beam, Truspeed is easy to jam while the Ultralyte got made power.(gun i feared most). Get only 1 of these guns and pick up the Stalker for. These are easy to detect but is a b!tch to jam. DJRAMS had JTG on hiw Mustang from all guns got the Stalker.

Make sure to have at least 1 person with out for testing. They can drive the car and you shoot. Give each run 1 shot at 1 target. when you all done, freestyle the guns. PM members here where to aim at spots very prone to PT.
