I'm suprised they still issue CC permits in Kalifornia.

There's a few counties in central CA that issue without much issue; there's a whopping total of 6 people in San Fransisco that have a permit, so it largely depends on the county in which you live. But that permit is good throughout CA.

Seems like everything is a "felony" in the US.

I'm sure I read about a guy who is up on Felony Nosepicking charges.

Same reason you wear your seatbelt, you never know when bad things are going to happen and taking steps toward surviving those situations is prudent.
