Trip to Buffalo from the east

Going to Buffalo next week for a conference, travelling from the binghamton area. Any hot spots to watch out for?

looks like I'll be going 17 W to 390 N to 36 then to 20 W. 188 miles

Wish I could help you out... I always took that route on the Thruway from where I live all the way past buffalo to Fredonia and know that like a champ... from B-town on the minor roads... mehhhh not so much.

Goodluck though... PM Victor for info in and around Buffalo he might be of some help there.

The NYST have an ongoing summer campaign going from the Chemung county line to Painted Post. They have been "living up to their word" this past week. There are several ambush spots as you leave the Vestal area. Mostly in the woods and weeds. In Elmira watch the overpasses. Laser from the top and I/O from the abutments. After Elmira it's pretty much hit and miss. On 390 watch the medians and the areas near the rest stops. 390 gets busier the farther north you go. Watch the local roads for the ......locals. Well. I took the above route which turned into a real PITA. Major construction and many small towns to go thru. But I did have two exciting things happen while i was in Buffalo. Experienced an earthquake on wed, the floor shook and the chandelier in our conference room started swinging back and forth!

I decided to take I-90 on the trip back and promptly got hit with a rear laser shot just out side of Buffalo. Good thing there was a left lane hog in front of me or I would have been in trouble. Lots of "dug outs" for patrol cars to hide in the median and off the shoulder on that stretch for rear shots. Back end protection is a must if you travel I-90 between Buffalo and Rochester.

Man, I wish I knew this: Not only does trapster on my GPS do a killer job, I probably could have gotten you at least a few good spots where they hide shown to you.

They are brutes there... and why I have a rear jammer on my car... it isn't much, but its my last line of defense, a CB is premier compared to all other countermeasures there.

-Also if you had a free 1/2hr I would have told you to watch my videos 'Thruway runs' or 'buffalo trips' every one is from WaterLoo > Fredonia, and probably hit 90% of the spots they hide at.

Was the shot from the rear via the place in this video... (they shoot rear going both into and out-of-buffalo from this spot radar/lidar). It also shows a CB owning all other countermeasures:
