Today on the way in from work I get a ka alert, look up and see a Plano Police Officer driving opposite of me with constant on ka less than .2 miles away.

Could have been bad conditions though. I havent been able to take my x50 on the highway yet. My 8500 performs better than to be expected in my truck with metallic tint.

I am curious to see if the x50 will let me down in my honda with no tint. I am going on a 350 mile trip in a few weeks.

The Texas DPS use constant on ka mostly and some constant on K.

I would like to say that I get great Ka reception from my X50. Just this past weekend I was taking a 139 mile road trip to Raleigh, NC and my x50 starting going off... I got a few chirps at first but then I started getting 3 or 4 bars..... 2.5 miles later my x50 is screaming and there's the State Trooper and the poor customer that got tapped by him. I honestly have to say I haven't had much experience with KA on hills and curves but on Flat highway the x50's Ka distance is superb. Now if we could only find some type of drone filter...... :P

My X50 saved my ass a ton of times driving from Cleveland to Atlanta. I owned the KA band thanks to a few rabbits (or crash test dummies as we like to call 'em). I got great forewarn distance.

I was camping on the weekend that just passed
and on my way home i was just barley touching the road when i say a red and blue flashing infornt of me and i slowed down quick then my detector said K band and some 24.??? frequency i was almost on top of the cop car. as i passed him the K reading stayed strong for a long way down the road. I figured he only had the gun fireing forward perhaps this is what is happen to u

Thats weird, this past weekend i got saved on my roadtrip from boston to burlington vermont. Once i got on 89 i ran into lots of speed traps all on the opposite side of the highway. But once i got near vermont my Ka wnt off slowly, i slowed down from 80 to 65 and sure enough there was a trooper hidden in a median at a 45 degree angle facing me, it started to beep a good half mile to 3/4 of a mile before i hit him, i drive a black scion Tc and my detector mounted directly in the middle. And then yesterday on the connector i had K band go off with the local cops a good 3/4 of a mile before i saw him.

Your never supposed to hookup two detectors at once!! Reason Being that the way a detector works is it has a osculator inside to scan the freqencies to pick up xband kband kaband etc... this basicly works as a scanner handheld etc... looking for somebody transmitting on that frequencey so all a detector basicly is, is a golorified freq scanner... so when you hook up two scanners at once its like taking two hand held 2 way walkie talkies and keying them up right next to each other they go balistic typical reaction because a radar detector actually leaks energy that the other detector will pick up and then false on anyband over and over and over again. This is how you get picked up by vg2 and spectre 1 2 3 .. all they have to do is look for that leakage from your detector and they can detect you and that you have a detector....which is why the bel sti is the sh@t!!!! Because the bel sti is the only detector on the planet that i know of that does not leak emissions and in fact the fcc has come down on radar detector companies saying that they would like them to go interferce free of leakage but hey thats better for us the consumer we won't be setting of radar detector detector's such as the vg2 and the spectre 1,2,3 anymore so im fine with it ... although it might make the detector cost considerably more!!

I have the same problem. I bought my X50 a couple of weeks ago (online). It came packaged as it was absolutely new (though I have no way to know). I drive a Nissan Titan, smoke grey. The X50 is mounted midwindshield, under the mirror. Everytime I had CHP with radar on, I was almost on top of them. Barely had time to slow down. Was K/Ka bands. I don't know if it is the model, or is my radar detedtor defective. I would talk with the vendor, but I'd like to have your opinion before I do that so I'll be a bit informed
    Thanks
