Ive owned my V1 for almost a year and love it, a friend has the x50 an loves it. I do however love the ugly argument. I purchased my RD for the performance. .

Wouldnt care if it looked like a great dane turd as long as it did what it was made to do.

Currently getting ready to send it in for an update

    Default V1

I didn't know stealth that you owned a V1? I was wondering about that!

I own both the X50 and the V1 and have used both for thousands of miles. I would choose the V1. They both have their advantages, but if your main concern is range, I think the V1 is best. Besides the arrows and great range, the audio alerts on the V1 are the most distinct and easily recognizable of all RD's in my opinion.

i too have both and quite honestly i dont know why everyone hates the V1 so much. i personally like the looks of the unit. its different - not the same ol same ol. its only 2 weeks old and so far i couldnt say anything bad about it. i would say i prefer the mute function of my x50 somewhat more but with the extra display and audio control mounted it serves equally well for me. extra cost is an issue for some but hey - you just spent 400 bucks so whats the difference. my x50 was extremely quiet but i find my new V1 to be comparable. whatever issues they had before with falsing or "j"s has not been an issue at all. i wouldnt hesitate to use eithor one in any situation. no questions asked. i would say that the V1 is like buying a new sportscar - the first thing you want to do is "upgrade it" with custom displays, hardwired, fancy installs, etc. the x50 you buy just for transportation back and forth to work.no frills, no whistles, no problems. just plain jane great detection. i think its more of a personality issue instead of performance. both are great.

I currently own the V1 and a RX65 and I can tell you I would go with the V1. I was a HUGE fan of Bel, but since I've had the V1 I just can't get over the range it has. Yes the V1 does false a bit more, but I think it has the Bel beat in all bands. The RX65 MIGHT be a bit ahead in Ka, but I can't say for sure. I do rural/urban driving and for me the choice is simple, I want range and that means I perfer the V1. Really I don't think you'd go wrong with the top of the line Bel's, V1, or the X50. They are all fine RD's it just depends on what you are looking for.

i just di this... i took a good week reading everyhtign i could find and 2 people i know have both.....

what sold me on the V1 was after you get use to it and drive your route a few time you get use to it. you know if its false......

when i road the route to luch with the V1 the arrows and boggy counter he knew if it was a fasle, even if 3 bands came on the V1 showed the band of the one that could give you ticket and its strength...

when i road with the X50 yeah it would show all 3 bands and the strength of each... but not how many (V1 tracked 6 the biulding we was passing had 6 on it) see we was just looking around let **** what to do?

next as we got close to the your speed sign the V1 showed the K band and blinked the front arrow and added 1 boogy for 7 total...

when in the X50 car guess what the K band went up in striaght and that was it if that would have been a cop we would have no idea that there was antoher player in the field....

I don't own eather and road in both cars on the same day...... the V1 was much easiy to make if it was false and you knew if somthing changed

so i ordered the V1 yesterday....... yes this is IMO but thats the reason i got the V1. plus they are the same orice as the X50 blue if you get a refurb

i own the x-50 (rev. 6.1) and i'm really happy with the way it performs, i've ranned into a bunch of moving Ka&K band (constant on) radar on the opposite line going about 45-60mph and it gave me plenty of time to slow down, i guess it depends on what features are more important to you, both have excellent detection range imo

i got that "self cal" and "requires sevice alerts" in 1 month of owning the X50

Its on it way back to escort on monday, yet being sick of this new unit and its problems right out of the gate I just orderd a V1 tonight.

In response to Turbo V6 last post you could always put the X50 on EXP mode like I do and after awhile you get to know the actual signal that is being transmitted and know if its a false or a real radar alert and then after long enough you may be able to identify the type of gun they used based on the reading the X50 gives you
